Detailed Description:

The CD4026 IC is a CMOS decade counter with decoded 7-segment display output. It counts from 0 to 9 and directly drives a common-cathode 7-segment display, eliminating the need for external decoders or complex logic circuits. It accepts clock pulses at its input and automatically increments the count with each pulse.

It features carry-out, blanking input, and display enable functions and works across a wide voltage range from 3V to 15V, making it compatible with both CMOS and TTL logic systems. The DIP-16 package allows easy use in breadboards and custom PCBs.

How to Use:

1. Connect Vdd to 5V/12V, Vss to GND

2. Connect clock input (pin 1) to a pulse source (e.g., 555 timer or Arduino)

3. Connect segment output pins (a–g) to 7-segment display

4. Use carry-out to link to a second CD4026 for multi-digit counters

5. Connect Display Enable (DE) and Blanking (BI) appropriately
